Colorado gives the public broad access to many records, but the hard part is figuring out which office holds the file you want. The Elbert County Clerk of Court handles District Court and County Court case files, including felony, domestic relations, county court, and probate records. The Elbert County Clerk and Recorder handles recorded documents and marriage licenses. The Sheriff's Office handles jail and criminal justice records. We pull together contact details, search portals, fee schedules, and request steps for each office into one place.

Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
